I found in him a resemblance to the siddha purusha who had once came into my dream, and also saw in him all the attributes of a jivanmukhta as described in the Vasistham and other vedantic books. Though for the next ten days Bhagavan had not spoken to me, I was deeply impressed by him. His compassionate look calmed my mind, but as I could not withstand its intensity I involuntarily bent my head again. After about ten minutes I lifted my head and found Bhagavan looking at me intensely.

I entered the hall full of nervousness, bowed before Bhagavan and sat with bent head in the place reserved for ladies. As the daughter of one of our uncles was at the Ashram after her husband’s death, my brother agreed to send me there.
Luckily for me, it occurred to him that I too would be greatly benefited by going there. He happened to go to Thiruvannamalai also and have Bhagavan’s darshan. In 1941, my elder brother went on a pilgrimage to the south. Whenever I was reminded of that vision, I used to pray to God that I should have the privilege of serving such a sage in my lifetime. Since then I have had that vision imprinted in my mind. I tried to get up to offer my salutations to him and so involuntarily opened my eyes. When I saw that brilliant figure a thrill went down my spine. During the sleep, I had the darshan of a sage seated in a padmasana pose on a pedestal three feet high facing south in a mouna mudra like Lord Dakshinamurthi. I wept and wept and getting tired, fell asleep. One day I prayed with all sincerity that I should have a siddha pursha like Kapila Mahamuni for a guru. I read Pothana’s Bhagavatam over and over again. Religious discourses, devotional songs and similar matters began to attract me.īeing born in a village not having even an elementary school I looked after my education by learning to read and write with the help of elders. As years rolled by, I began to understand the way of the world. Only a year later my husband passed away. My father passed away when I was four years old, and my mother, when I was ten. Nagamma in a way acted as Sri Ramana’s secretary in regard to copying from scriptures, writings etc., where Telugu language was involved. In addition to Letters from Sri Ramanasramam, her two other books are: My Life at Sri Ramanasramam and Letters from and Recollections of Sri Ramanasramam. These letters faithfully record discussions the devotees and visitors had with the Maharshi and happenings at the Ashram.
In the end, as he falls from a building along with the kid, he dies, saving the kid, thus earning the good will of Suchitra.Suri Nagamma (1902-80) is known for her 273 letters in Telugu, written during 1945-50, at the behest of her elder brother, who was an executive in a commercial bank and a devotee of Sri Ramana. He snatches Suchitra's new born kid and escapes into the city with the police searching for him. He is hospitalized again, but manages to escape from there. As he recovers, they suggest him to get married but Maharshi turns crazy at the suggestion and runs away shouting. Tilak tries to help Maharshi by being friends with him and helping him mingle with Suchitra. Maharshi slaps his friend and explains that he wants her affection and love and not her body, and they carefully take her back. Maharshi's pure love for Suchitra is shown when his friend Ramana (CVL Narasimha Rao) drugs Suchitra and brings them to Maharshi's home, assuming that Maharshi wants a physical union with her. Gradually Maharshi slips into a depression and is hospitalized. He tries to attack Tilak at their own home but stops when he sees Suchitra open the door. However, he assumes that Tilak has used his power as sub-inspector and locked him up. When Maharshi comes to know of this, he tries to stop the wedding but is locked up in a police station at the insistence of his own father. Soon after she expresses her wish to marry him, more with the objective of getting rid of Maharshi. Suchitra meets her childhood friend Tilak (Krishna Bhagavan) who is working as a police sub-inspector in the same town. Maharshi then scares and turns away the prospective bride grooms who come to Suchitra's home. Suchitra turns down the offer even after her parents show interest. Maharshi takes a liking for her and tries to win her by approaching her parents and showing off his wealth. She is averse towards him owing to his rough and rude behaviour and does not even talk to him when he approaches her.
However, things change when he meets Suchitra (Shanti Priya) in college. He is well noted in the college for his rough behaviour of maintaining a gang of friends, teasing lecturers and beating up classmates. Maharshi (Raghava), is a carefree college youth from a rich background.
